The Arnold House

A Modern Take on a 1920’s Craftsman
The Arnold House
The Arnold House was all about preserving history while making it livable for today. This 1920’s craftsman home was packed with charm and character, but it needed a fresh perspective to suit a modern family. My goal was to highlight its original beauty while adding functionality and space for everyday life.
Design Highlights
Preserved craftsman details: stained glass, coffered ceilings, and fir floors
Added a full-height basement suite and expanded the home to 3,400 sq. ft
Modernized the layout with an open-concept kitchen and living area

Reflection
"This project holds a special place in my heart because it allowed me to combine two things I love - honouring the craftsmanship of the past while embracing the practicality of the present. Watching this home evolve into a modern, functional family retreat was incredibly rewarding."
